Thank you for your interest in Volunteering at STARS! We are so glad you text or clicked!

STARS is a unique and inspiring volunteer experience all on its own. As one of Siouxland’s most established non-profit organizations, you will learn and grow through the positive and powerful ways horses can transform human lives.

No matter what your role, this is a program in which your involvement will make real, long-lasting change in a rewarding and satisfying setting. Your time as a volunteer will create laughter, love, accomplishment, and enrichment with everyone around you each and every time you serve. This is one experience where you will see change, and one that will change you.

No horse experience is necessary to participate at STARS. We do our best to make sure everyone is in a placement best suited to his/her needs and abilities as a volunteer.  There are several opportunities to get involved at STARS.  Most importantly we need help in our Therapeutic Riding Classes that take place in the evenings but we also have large flower beds we could use a lot of help with, general cleaning, event help, or special projects.

All new volunteers must be 14 years of age, attend orientation & training, and be able to pass required background checks prior to starting in a volunteer position.
